The Tampa Bay Wing is proud to have developed partnerships with Trig Avionics, Lakeland Linder Airport, Sun-N-Fun Aerospace Expo, SheltAir Aviation, and Double M Aviation. Our partners' support helped the Tampa Bay Wing receive its first airplane, a Fairchild PT-19, which we flew from Dallas to Lakeland in May, 2024 and placed in our hangar at Sun-N-Fun.

The Tampa Bay Fairchild PT-19 is being flown by Sebastian DaSo with Larry DaSo in the rear cockpit south of Lakeland Linder Airport. Sebastian Flew the PT-19 from Fresno, California, to Dallas. He returned two weeks later and, with the help of Ken Hewes, flew the PT-19 from Dallas to Lakeland. Sebastian flew our PT-19 from coast to coast, a true cross-country trip. Thank you, Sebastian, for your commitment to the Tampa Bay Wing.

The Commemorative Air Force® (CAF) was founded to preserve history by restoring historic World War II aircraft to flying and educating new generations of Americans on the value of military aviation in assuring our nation’s freedom. These airplanes, and the men and women who built, flew, and maintained them – changed the world forever! We can never let them be forgotten.


More than just a collection of airworthy warplanes, our fleet of more than 173 aircraft, known as the CAF Ghost Squadron®, recreates, reminds, and reinforces the lessons learned from a defining moment in American history.


This history is worth saving… and worth passing on.


As a new Wing for the CAF, the Tampa Bay Wing is continuing the CAF's mission to Educate, Inspire, and Honor. One requirement for aircraft assignment is funding. Your donation will assist the CAF-Tampa Bay Wing in maintaining and operating a vintage Warbird aircraft. These aircraft will allow us to Educate individuals, especially youth, about aviation and these historic aircraft, Inspire youth to understand and get involved in aviation, and Honor all of our military veterans with Honor Flights and flyovers. Your donation to the CAF-Tampa Bay Wing will help us complete the mission of Educate, Inspire, and Honor.
